Incredible! The basic research for round two of "Is Congress a Family Business?" is now complete. Citizen journalists have investigated the spouses of 374 members of the House of Representatives. They've checked to see whether spouses are indirectly receiving campaign contributions by working for firms that in turn work for the member's campaign. They've investigated whether spouses work for firms that receive federal contracts, or for organizations that receive federal grants. And they've done it all in record time (again!).
We'll have a tally of the preliminary results up on the Sunlight Foundation homepage Monday, along with information on the next step.
